Just before reaching the viewing rock or as a final hike through the recreational area, this modernly renovated shelter offers both shelter from the wind and tranquility. The combination of natural stone, wood, and an information board makes it a welcome stopover in the snow-covered Hunsrück Forest. 💡 Tip 🌨️ Don't just use the hut for a rest – a glance at the information board inside provides guidance for the next highlights, such as the Pulpit Rock or the Burrkante.

Niederwörresbach Sports Center Large sports hall 22x44 m, divisible, grandstand for 400 spectators, 3 changing rooms. Possible sports: handball, indoor soccer, volleyball, badminton, basketball, cultural events. History: Artistic gymnastics in Niederwörresbach is inseparably linked to the name Marianne Reimann († 1994). Under her leadership, the gymnastics department at SV Niederwörresbach developed over more than two decades into an excellent base for top-level artistic gymnasts. By 1990, Reimann's protégés had won a total of 11 German championship titles and many second and third places in German team championships. Heike Schwarm was the most successful. She crowned her sporting career by taking part in the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles, where she and the team came fourth. Other outstanding gymnasts from the Reimann success story were Angela Golz, Katja Gerhardt, Nina Wardelmann, Silke and Marina Wagner. This track record was a prerequisite for the decision of the Rhineland-Palatinate state government at the end of the 1980s to support the construction of a large sports hall with an attached state performance center for artistic gymnastics in Niederwörresbach. After almost two years of construction, the sports facility was put into operation in September 1995 under the auspices of the Herrstein collective municipality.
