A truly interesting and legendary place! So, this is where King Hinz from the legend rests! In November 2023, the Royal Hall of Seddin was discovered nearby, the largest of its kind in Northern Europe to date. The building measured 10 meters wide and 31 meters long and likely served as a meeting place. In October 2024, further archaeological discoveries were made, including the remains of a densely built Bronze Age settlement. These finds confirm the importance of the Seddin region as a center of Bronze Age culture and trade.

Today, the restored castle houses a museum dedicated to the history of the house and the living culture of the Brandenburg landed gentry, using the example of the Gans Edlen Herren zu Putlitz family. Concerts and civil weddings take place in the castle's beautiful garden hall, and church services are held in the castle chapel, as well as church weddings and baptisms.

The village church consists of a nave and a recessed choir with a straight eastern end. To the southeast of this, a baroque bell tower stands alone. This replaces the west tower that was destroyed in 1739. This also explains why the west side of the nave was completely renovated using half-timbered brick techniques.

The "King's Grave" is considered the most important burial site of the 9th century BC in northern Central Europe. Its enormous size, the special construction of the burial mound, the large stone burial chamber with clay plaster and painting, together with the rich grave furnishings, reflect the existence of a Late Bronze Age elite in the Prignitz.

There isn't much to see here other than a large hill.

But the way there isn't exactly the best.

The nave of the half-timbered church with a polygonal end in the east was built in 1712. The west wall of the nave and the attached rectangular church tower were built from brick in 1893. The top floor of the church tower houses the tower clock and the belfry.
