One of the few cafés that's also open on Mondays! There's a small lunch menu (12-3 p.m.) with things like schnitzel or currywurst; otherwise, they serve coffee and cake. I passed the time waiting by paying an extra €5 to walk through the amazingly large garden (children under 12 would have been free). That seemed like a steep price at first, but the garden is beautiful, blooming, and buzzing with life. I was pretty impressed and thought it was definitely worth the entrance fee. There's a playground for the little ones, grandma and grandpa can easily navigate the paths with their walkers, and there are plenty of benches. There are also lots of carved animals to discover – really lovely, so I didn't mind the not-so-great cake 😁

The Self-Evangelical Lutheran Church (SELK) is not part of the Hanover Regional Church, but is a free church that dates back to the "Hermannsburg Mission" in the Lüneburg Heath in the 19th century. https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hermannsburger_Mission Therefore, there are often two village churches in this area.
