The town owes its name "Bad" to the former hydrotherapy facility in 1915. Due to the existing electrification and its location on Lake Schwerin, the Bad Kleinen Mill Works were established in 1916. Bad Kleinen looks back on a varied history. https://www.mein-bad-kleinen.de/historisches-bad-kleinen/#:~:text=Der%20damaligen%20Wasserheilanstalt%20verdankt%20der,auf%20eine%20avielfalte%20Geschichte%20zur%C3%BCck. In Bad Kleinen stands a large old mill that produced first-class flour. When the Treuhand (Treuhand) took over, the business was closed. The site is now owned by a real estate group.

The Wallensteingraben, with its shallow depth (in some places significantly less than 50 centimeters) and its natural bed, is only navigable by experienced canoeists when the water level is favorable. Maps currently in circulation show the obstacles only inaccurately. In addition to the well-known weirs and rapids, numerous fallen trees, particularly in the forest around Moidentin, impede the journey. Due to the inaccessible banks, it is sometimes impossible to carry the obstacles around.

Wismar-Kluß pond area along several ponds, including the Viereggenhöfer pond and the fish pond near Kluß. Here the railway line between Bad Kleinen and Wismar is once again crossed under. After changing direction to the north, the Wallensteingraben is dammed in the Mühlenteich; it leaves this on its northern bank. A short distance away, the mouth is reached in a Wismar harbor basin.

Further north, the ditch runs alternately along the Bad Kleinen-Wismar railway line. The course is quite winding above Moidentin, a district of Dorf Mecklenburg. The Rummelbeck flows in there on the left. South of Dorf Mecklenburg, the river turns away from the railway line in a northwesterly direction. In Dorf Mecklenburg, the federal highway 106 crosses the Wallensteingraben. Further north, the water flows past Karow, under the federal highway 20 and, shortly before Wismar, under the B 106 again. Now flowing east, the ditch runs in the nature reserve
