From the front, the church looks like a fortress. For the sparsely populated area, this church - like many others - is much too large for the village.

Replica (2009) of a Saxon distance column from 1724 from the former Bautzen Gate on Bahnhofstrasse in Bischofswerda. The original coat of arms and inscription are located in Bischofswerda Town Hall.

A wonderful, winding, and undulating path through fields. Completely paved. It can get muddy during harvest time, but it's always a pleasant ride. I always enjoy riding along here, especially towards Hutberg.

Beautiful view of Stolpen, including the castle. It's nice to see how it was built on the old volcanic crater (basalt spring dome).

05/25 Following Olaf and Marco's advice, I braved the challenge with my road bike and mastered it without a flat tire or visible puncture (tubeless, 700x25c). It's not difficult to slow down uphill. But I was a little worried about my rims and tires on a few sections – the 2km are very mixed, sometimes fine, sometimes very rough gravel. It's also a bit of a technical workout.
