The "Schloss" has now been restored and shines in new splendor. A sweet gem. However, all hikers and cyclists should be considerate - there are now rental apartments here. Behind the "Castle" there is a small forest that is left to its own devices (nature conservation) - the perfect place to catch some shade and coolness in the summer though.

The house was built in 1857 in neo-Gothic style for Ferdinand Knauer, who worked as a beet sugar manufacturer and gave the building one of its names. During a partial renovation in 1999, the interior of the castle was gutted. As of 2022, the buildings have been empty for more than ten years and are characterized by decay. The park is very overgrown. Above the main entrance of the listed building there is a medallion in which a sugar beet and the inscription You owe this house its existence are shown. The property is surrounded by a park. The former laboratory is located in the park. Noteworthy is the material used for the construction, silicified wood, which was a waste product from the mining industry in the area. The Sankt-Peter-Kirche is the protestant church of the village of Osmünde in Saxony-Anhalt. The single-nave nave, built of quarry stone, was built around the year 1200. The stained-glass windows were modified later. The choir has moved into the ship. On the east side there is a semi-circular apse, which, together with the choir and the east part of the nave, dates from the construction period. On the north side of the nave there are some small, original windows. The west transept tower, which collapsed in 1986 and is only a ruin, and another tower north of the chancel were built in the late Gothic period. The background to the erection of the unusual square chancel flank tower, which took place around 1450[1] and gives the church the appearance of a saddle church, is said to have been a use as a pilgrimage chapel.
