The Lühe pier is a popular destination for young and old. Many snack stalls invite you to linger, there is something for every taste. Tolle Blicke hat man auf die Elbe und die umliegende Natur. A large playground is located in the immediate vicinity of the snack stalls, as well as many park benches with a view of the Elbe. On the Lühe pier, there is also a snack bar with tasty snacks and drinks. The Lühe Schulau ferry sails from here across to the other side of the Elbe.

You can enjoy and undertake a beautiful little hike here. The windmill is worth visiting, it is 24 m high in total. In 1911, an engine was installed, and decommissioning took place in 1961. In 1984, the Borsteler Mühle „Aurora“ was restored with funds from the district of Stade after its acquisition and has been made available for visits ever since. Unfortunately, it has been closed again for several years, but is currently undergoing restoration. Directly behind the windmill, there is free parking. A beautiful sight is the old village church, the Historic Harbor, as well as the great old half-timbered houses of Borstel.

Saint Matthias is one of the twelve apostles from the inner circle of Jesus' disciples, but he was not appointed to this office by Jesus himself, unlike the others. After Jesus' betrayal by Judas Iscariot and the subsequent crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ, the eleven remaining apostles prayed for the Holy Spirit and elected a new twelfth apostle. The lot fell to Matthias, as reported in the "Acts of the Apostles" in the New Testament (Acts 1:15-26). His feast day is on May 14th, and in German-speaking areas, February 24th. He is buried in the Benedictine Abbey of St. Matthias in Trier; it is the only apostle's tomb north of the Alps, and a number of St. Matthias Brotherhoods (SMB) regularly make pilgrimages there.

The Lühe-Schulau ferry transports its passengers back and forth. The crossing takes about 25 minutes. The connection between Wedel, now a city in the Hamburg metropolitan region, and Lühe, a village in the first mile of the Altes Land region, has existed since 1918.
