The Kampina is Brabant as it once was. Here you'll still find wet heathland with fens, fragrant bog myrtle thickets, meadows, deciduous forests, and blue grass meadows. We are slowly but surely transforming the monotonous pine forests into a much more diverse habitat for animals, plants, and fungi. A remarkable success is the return of the badger. Since 2016, it has felt completely at home here again. Source: https://www.natuurmonumenten.nl/natuurgebieden/kampina

In the municipality of Oisterwijk, four streams have had a significant impact on the landscape's development: the Voorste Stroom, the Reusel, the Rosep, and the Beerze. Over the centuries, these streams have incised the sandy soils, creating stream valleys. Characteristic of the stream valley landscape are wet, low-lying land and elongated parcels of land (plot parceling), which are primarily used for pastureland or nature reserves. However, the appearance and landscape experience vary from stream to stream. Source: https://omgevingsvisie.oisterwijk.nl/home/gebieden/beekdal-van-de-rosep

The "I see you sitting" bench, bearing the names of Pim, Astrid, Max, and Mouse, is situated in a particularly beautiful spot near the middle of Groot Aderven. There's a dog beach. To the left of it, you can see a lone "walking" pine tree in the middle of the path. I prefer to read the inscription on the bench as: "We see you sitting!" Do you/they really see me sitting?
