Estany de Mascarida is a lake of glacial origin that is located at an altitude of 2319m, at the head of the Vall de Cardós, in the Pallars Sobirà, to the NW. of the town of Tavascan, in the municipal term of Lladorre. Its basin is located between the Pic de la Coma del Forn (2683m), to the NW, Campirme (2633m) to the S., and the Montforcado (2634m) to the W. It has an area of 2.04 hectares and a length of 205m. receives the waters of the Devil's Lake by the O. and the Estanys de Mascarida de Dalt to the NW. The discharge of its waters forms the Torrent of Mascarida. In its waters we can find the Pyrenean newt (Calotriton asper) which is an endemic species of the Pyrenees. It is under the protection of the Alt Pirineu Natural Park.

The Refugi de la Pleta del Prat is a mountain refuge, located at 1,722m, at the foot of the Tavascan Ski Resort, within the municipality of Lladorre (Pallars Sobirà). It is located within the Alt Pirineu Natural Park, and in an area with a wide range of possibilities, where various activities can be carried out, both in summer and in winter, for all levels and ages. It is a privileged environment, where you can enjoy nature in its purest state, with a great wealth of flora and fauna. It was inaugurated in 1995 and has been open ever since, offering its services to all those mountaineers and skiers who have come through the area. Services: - 50 places distributed in 4 rooms. Bunk beds with mattress, blanket and pillow - Breakfast, lunch, dinner and picnic service - Bar/cafeteria open during the day - WC and hot showers - Rental of sheets and towels - Pharmacist - Space for cooking with a stove (without utensils or gas) - Information about the area - Payment by card
