You should definitely stop by the Burgdorfer Schützenhaus if you like beer. Burgdorfer 1999 beer was first brewed in the brewery. Today, the facility is still in operation, producing specialty beers. You can also enjoy a good meal and recharge your batteries at the inn. More information: https://burgdorferschuetzenhaus.ch/.

I usually always fine something positive about a cycleway or stretch of road, however this is an exception The road surface on itself ist excellent only a bit rough with buckled pavement in the villages. The landscape is really beautiful all the time, now the bad and ugly part. This road has much to much traffic on it to ride comfortably. With exception from Bigenthal to Burgdorf. The Swiss National Cycleway is at this point not very consistent with champagne gravel, coarse gravel, and nicely paved asphalted sections. The traffic was so heavy that I didn’t continue my planned route. I asked several other work colleagues about this stretch of road and they told me in advance, not to take it because there is so much heavy traffic on it. Lesson learned.

Even better than the show dairy is the Meier bakery right next door! Ideal for a refreshing snack in the form of a cream cake or a Nide cake.
