Very nice rest area with a shelter. A large sign provides information about the LIVE Bombina project. Bombina bombina is the scientific name of the fire-bellied toad, a species threatened with extinction in Europe. According to European nature conservation law, the Fauna-Flora-Habitat Directive (FFH), this species is particularly protected and finds a particularly good habitat in the valleys below the rest area. You are unlikely to see the toad, but it draws attention to itself quite loudly. https://www.stiftungsland.de/was-wir-tun/erfolgreiche-hilfe-fuer-die-natur/bombinafuer-rotbauchunken-im-ostseeraum/
