The facade of the residential and commercial building at Glambecker Straße 3 dates from 1909/10 and is a listed monument. The originally single-story half-timbered building from the end of the 18th century was extended and built up in 1889. The two-story, Baroque-style plastered building with the wave-shaped roof edge received its defining Art Nouveau facade in 1909/10 based on a design by architect K. Hüttner from Altstrelitz. The building fell into disrepair during GDR times. Only the facade was saved and could be restored after 2000. The initials of August Selig and the name of the architect were made visible again. The memorial to the victims of fascism in Neustrelitz at Marienstraße / Friedrich-Wilhelm-Straße near the train station was erected in 1949 and is a listed building. The memorial was erected in 1949 as a square, 20-meter-high obelisk made of hard-fired dark bricks, with a metal spike and standing on a stepped square base. It was inaugurated on September 11, 1949. In a pointed-arch niche is a plaque bearing the inscription: "TO THE VICTIMS OF FASCISM." The plaque had to be replaced in 1997 after being destroyed. Explore our gallery in the beautiful surroundings of Zierker See. As part of the cultural life in Neustrelitz, we are a meeting point for locals and tourists who, for example, can dock their boats directly outside our door. You can find us in one of the lovingly restored old granaries right on the harbor under the tower. Amidst cafes, restaurants, a coffee roastery, and a hotel, art enthusiasts have the opportunity to "experience" art.
