Lamp manufacturer and villa resident Emil Wild discovered the larger-than-life lady at the Berlin Trade Exhibition in 1879. He bought the Borussia – the figurative, female symbol of old Prussia – and had her brought to the grounds of his Villa Wild on the banks of the Wannsee. There she has stood ever since as an adornment for a terrace complex with a viewing platform. https://www.gazette-berlin.de/artikel/2258-borussia-mit-aussicht.html

At this point, the still-preserved railway bridge from 1926 crosses Machnower Weg. As planning progresses, an investigation is underway into whether the bridge needs to be replaced with a new one. Immediately west of the bridge will be the new Griebnitzsee crossing structure and a branch towards Potsdam Medienstadt Babelsberg. Both will allow trains on the Potsdam Main Line to continue their journeys towards both Potsdam and Michendorf. Connections to existing lines will be created.
