You drive past the lake and then stand in Nysted Harbor with a magnificent view of Aalhorn Castle. We lingered on the benches and enjoyed this view for a long time.

Although the castle is not open to the public, the causeway offers a magnificent view of the fortress on the Nystedfjord. This is one of Denmark's best-preserved medieval castles.

The harbour is the heart of Nysted. Here you can feel the pulse of life. You are in the middle of the city and in nature. Nysted Harbour is located in the interior of Nysted Nor with a wonderful view over the Fehmarnbelt, the offshore wind farm on Rødsand, the old provincial town and Ålholm Castle. The harbour is on the south coast of Lolland. With NW and N winds, low tide is up to 1.5 m. In Nysted, with its old, lovingly preserved houses, you can feel the history and be filled with new energy. If you want to see something of the surrounding area, a bicycle is the best option. Bus: Line 730 Nysted - Nykøbing Falster

Excellent and family-run campsite. Good starting point for cycling tours in southern Lolland. The owner couple is very friendly and has excellent bread rolls in the morning.

From the harbor there are beautiful views of Nysteds Church. As the city's landmark, the beautiful baroque church tower and the water tower stand out from the city skyline. The church consists of a nave and several annexes. The oldest parts of the building can be dated to around 1330. The tower was added later. In 1643 the church was extended by a north nave and in 1659 the spire was added. The last reconstruction dates from around 1854. More information about the church at https://nysted.dk/nysted-kirke/.
