Varenna is the hub for ferries on Lake Como. Taking bicycles is no problem, but the seating directly at the loading ramp takes some getting used to. Prices are moderate, e.g.: Varenna-Belaggio 🧍🏻♂️+🚲=€5.60.

Beautifully situated on the mountainside, this route offers magnificent views of Lake Como. Even without the view, the route is beautiful: a small, well-paved (June 2025) mountain road with a moderate climb, beautiful switchbacks, and little traffic.
