When walking from east to west there are three benches seperated a few hundred meters apart (this is the first). All have a great view and are nice places for a rest.

It's a lovely pub here in Botley Road for some food and drink. Be sure to go around the back - in the summer, you should be able to witness a lovely wildflower meadow on the grass here!

This is a lovely place to have your rest at. The Common (the green) is, apparently, one of the 200 such commons in the Chiltern Hills. The beacon/brazier was erected here to commemorate Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth's Golden Jubilee in 2002. The Crown (the pub) is here to serve you if you'd like some food and/or drink.

The Chilterns are renowned for their diverse natural beauty. You'll encounter dramatic chalk escarpments offering panoramic views, extensive ancient woodlands (especially famous for their beechwoods), and sparkling chalk streams like the Chess and Misbourne. Keep an eye out for red kites soaring overhead and various butterfly species in the chalk grasslands.
Many routes are designed as circular walks, allowing you to start and finish at the same bus stop. The Chiltern Heritage Trail Loop from Chesham is a moderate 8.5 km circular route that offers a great experience of the local landscape.
The Chilterns are generally very dog-friendly, with many trails welcoming well-behaved dogs. It's always best to keep dogs on a lead, especially near livestock or in nature reserves. Always check local signage for specific restrictions on individual routes or areas.
Many bus-accessible trails pass by historical sites and natural monuments. You might encounter the Cholesbury Camp Iron Age Hill Fort, the tranquil Shardeloes Lake, or the unique River Chess Stepping Stones and Weir. Historic villages like Old Amersham also offer charm and points of interest.
Yes, the Chilterns are dotted with charming pubs, and several hiking routes are designed to include them.
