(The sentences preceding the quote refer to gravestones and their inscriptions. Paul Spiegel then continues:) "What one cannot learn from the stones of Bet Chayim, however, but should bring with oneself when approaching them... is respect for the peace and honor of the dead who lie there. (...) But you [meaning us as visitors] do not come with excavators, but with questions and interest. Therefore, I would like to invite you to visit the Jewish cemeteries... and let them tell you something. I also have an ulterior motive: In these times, it can't hurt if the local neighbors occasionally check on the resting places of our people, which, unfortunately, are repeatedly subjected to violence and disgrace by malicious people." The Laurenzi MTB route passes by here and it is worth driving up here. When the weather is good, you have a fantastic view of the Vienna Woods and beyond. Right next to the observation tower there is an inn with excellent food and friendly hosts, just the thing if you are going on a long bike ride!
