Good landmark as you go along the road. I do not think you can visit it, It is a landmark (folly - serves no useful purpose other than as a landmark) to James Frampton but I don't think you can be deported to Australia for looking at it :-)

The old road is still here and easily rideable on any bike. But as with most cycle infrastructure, is badly signposted and the junction off the A35 is sketchy, forcing you to brake sharply and avoid the bushes when leaving the A35, or come to a halt and wait for a gap in the cars if you're joining the A35.

There's a car park and viewpoint at the top. Coming from the east is a long gradual climb. Coming from the west it is a short, sharp climb hitting 15% in places. But…going down (especially eastwards) makes it worth it.

Stair Hole is a small cove where you can see the extraordinary folds of limestone layers known as the 'Lulworth Crumple'. The unique rock structure was created during the Alpine orogeny and was exposed by subsequent erosion.

This picture is NOT LULWORTH COVE, it's Durdle Door, the next view along to the west.
