The track that takes you through Yatton Wood and onto Perrystone Hill is a definite highlight, particularly on a day when the light is good. Good walking, fine trees.

Sadly the farm is boarded up, but the barns still seem to be in use. The little chapel is definitely worthy of protection.

Walking down through the harvested corn, you have a fine view of Yatton Wood up on the hill. The next section of the trail goes through another part of this wood.

Chapel Farm is hidden away in its own little valley and actually does have a small chapel next to the farm buildings.

A small church on top of a little hill - it has no tower.

It is not that common that a Christian church - essentially encompassing the whole of heaven - is consecrated "ALL SAINTS", it is usually one (or occasionally two) named saints who are the patron saint of a church - and therefore usually also over the municipality or town in which it is located. But in search of the origin you have to go far back into history, because the model for this practice of dedicating to ALL SAINTS can be seen as a pagan custom, according to which there were already central temples in pre-Christian times that were generally dedicated to all deities (PANTHEON). were consecrated. Probably the most famous Pantheon, a former pagan temple and now a Christian place of worship, is located in the Italian capital.

This dainty church in the tiny parish of Yatton is Grade II-listed. Built in 1841, it is a landmark on the Herefordshire Trail, a long-distance circumnavigation of the county. Nestled at the foot of Perrystone Hill, this little church's beauty is in its simplicity.
