The Village at Mammoth is a great place to dine, relax and entertain with its diverse restaurants and retailers. The Westin Monache offers rental condominium units, and the heated swimming pools are available year-round. The gondola runs in and out of The Village during ski season and takes visitors to Canyon Lodge. In the summer, the village hosts weekly events such as movies, concerts, and activities.

Summit of the half-Mile loop trail to some of the oldest trees on Earth.

One of the oldest living things on planet Earth. There are only a couple older individual Bristlecone pine trees, which the park service intentionally protects from eager visitors that would love them to death. This ancient tree is an example, how people climb and trample the roots and branches of this invaluable natural wonder, so hiding the oldest individuals is a wise choice.

The mountain town is a great base camp for hiking the Sierras or take zero days and do a resupply along the Pacific Crest Trail. It is a busy tourist spot, but therefor has numerous hotels and motels and a perfect infrastructure. It is more expensive than the towns of Bishop, Lone Pine or Independence. To get a full resupply, you can shop at the Grocery Outlet that has good prices and a great variety of (hiker) food. It is close to a laundromat, so you can do your laundry and either shop or enjoy a decent coffee at the "Looney bean" next to it. You will also find a drugstore, some outfitters, a hospital and many, many restaurants. If you want to spare every mile, you can take the complimentary shuttle service to get around: https://www.mammothmountain.com/transportation/free-mountain-shuttle
