Beyond elk being very abundant during their season, this trail also offers year round views of bison grazing within the confines of the nature preserve. They all originate from a herd of seven bison brought from Yellowstone National Park in 1914!

From here you get amazing views out across Golden. This is also a popular sunset spot. There is a good mix of easy and quite steep trails here from Windy Saddle, so you have plenty of options to choose from.
