Inspired by the Aljaž Tower on the summit of Triglav, Slovenia's highest peak, Vickov stup is a characterful mountaineering shelter. High on the Mount Mosor ridge, it provides refuge for hikers and mountaineers in times of need. It was officially opened in 1952 and named after the Split-born revolutionary Vicko Krstulović.

Ljubirna is one of the highest points on Mount Mosor, the long ridge of peaks that rises to the east of Split. It's a fairly strenuous ascent from Dom Umberto Girometta, the mountain hut at the foot of the climb. However, it's worth it for the glorious panorama from the top. The view along the ridge from the summit is dominated by the peak of Veliki Kabal, Mosor's highest point, backed by the prominent peak of Sveti Jure.

Veliki Kabal, at 4,393 feet (1339 m), is the highest summit on the Mosor massif that dominates the landscape between Split and Omiš. As with many of the high summits in the Dinaric Alps, it offers stupendous views down to the Adriatic Sea, as well as of Split and along the Mosor Ridge. There are two mountain huts in the area: the Dom Umberto Girometta and the Planinarsko sklonište Kontejner.

These trails provide a rewarding experience with stunning vistas for those prepared for strenuous ascents.
Gornje Sitno serves as a common starting point for many Mosor hikes. While a bustling town center with extensive amenities might not be directly at the bus stop, there is a mountain house on Mount Mosor, accessible from Gornje Sitno, which can serve as a resting point. It's advisable to carry sufficient water and snacks as facilities can be sparse directly on the trails.
Yes, the Dicmo area is part of the broader region traversed by The Path of Our Lady of Sinj, a significant pilgrimage trail. While not all bus station hikes directly follow this path, you may encounter elements of this rich heritage, including old paths, bridges, and sacral objects, offering a blend of nature and culture.
Given the varied terrain and potential for changing weather, it's essential to bring sturdy hiking boots, layers of clothing, sun protection (hat, sunscreen), plenty of water, and snacks. A map or GPS device (like komoot's app) is highly recommended, especially for longer or more challenging routes, as some karst areas can be disorienting. Trekking poles can also be beneficial on rocky sections.
