Impressive railway bridge over the Mize

Pedestrian bridge with waves next to/at the railway bridge. You can see through the rust—not for the faint of heart.

Contrary to the map, you can actually walk over the bridge

It's a little bit of a thrill when crossing the bridge, especially when a train is passing by.

The castle ruin Buben stands on the rocky headland above the confluence of the Plesnicky potok / brook and river Mze in the Pilsen region about 1.5 km from Plesnice. The castle complex consisted of two parts. The castle core encircled a double wall (parkan) with a square bastion. The way to the castle led from the east through 3 castle gates. The third of them remained in remnants. Behind him was a square courtyard, the rear of which was occupied by the palace. The palace originally had two wings. The space between the gate and the palace was supplemented by buildings of light construction supported by wooden pillars or cantilevered beams. At the highest point of the headland was a five-sided tower, which protected the 2nd and 3rd gate and at the same time the entrance to the Parkan. The parkan wall reinforced the square bastion. From the castle, the Torreste and tower were preserved. The castle ruin is freely accessible. History: The castle was founded by rulers belonging to the Bavori family of Strakovnice, probably in 1333, when the Nectiny castle was removed from the family. The first document dates back to 1394, when Herman settled here. He also expanded his estate around the village Vejprnice. Next owner was Jitka of Nectiny and Jacks, continue lords of Janovice, Chlumcansti of Prestavlky and finally Ulicti of Plesnice. The castle collapsed in the middle of the 16th century. Location: 1.5 km from Plešnice, 15 km west from Plzeň and not far from Hracholuské přehrada.
