From here you can take a one hour carriage ride through the park and to Ross Castle. The coachman I had was a sociable old man who has been doing the job since 1961. A real highlight in Killarney

Holy Well dating back to 1302 Since 1302, this well has been associated with cures for a variety of ailments. Long ago, it was a popular pilgrimage site, with believers often travelling long distances to visit. The well was particularly popular for baptisms. Originally part of an ancient religious complex where St Mary's Church of Ireland now stands, Main Street now separates the two areas. Modern health and safety concerns have forced Killarney Town Council to close off the well entrance, although visitors can still look through the gate to the water below. With its well-preserved, small entrance, it still has a charming appeal. Call ahead for opening times.(Source: https://cityseeker.com/killarney/167368-st-mary-s-well)

In the street in front of the old town hall you will find many shops, restaurants and of course pubs. About the building: "Terraced, two-story former town hall with five bay windows, built around 1880, with a round, rusty, integrated coach arch in the middle with keystones and a Dutch gable in the middle with a clock. Extensively renovated in the second half of the 20th century , with a group of timber pilaster shop fronts inserted into the ground floor. Sloping slate roof with clay ridge tiles and parapets to the facade with sandstone crenellations at either end of the facade and ball finials flanking the central bay. English red brick walls with projecting base ", dentilled brick cornice, red sandstone parapet cap and curvilinear gable to center bay with sandstone trim. Flush red sandstone window sills and surrounds for openings. Sandstone cornices terminate first floor bays. Brick relief arches. Rusticated red sandstone architrave." https://www.buildingsofireland.ie/buildings-search/building/21400837/killarney-town-hall-38-main-street-killarney-killarney-kerry
