Very picturesque cottages, quite unusual for terraced houses to be thatched. More info on thatching in the North and East Ridings here: https://thatchinginfo.com/thatching-in-north-east-ridings-of-yorkshire/

The gate of an old church. Unfortunately, I couldn't figure out what used to stand there, whether it was a monastery or something else. But I found this portal very impressive.

Beautiful local village pond - thriving with life with moor hens and ducks. Great place to stop and feed the birds or sit with a sandwich on the benches.

Lovely spot with a selection of hot and cold food and drinks. Delicious cake and welcomes cyclists with bike lock ups, outside seating and a warm fire on when it's cold outside. Specials each day change on the board, be sure to ask.

Part of Cranswick Garden Centre is a really nice cafe that does a good selection of coffees and cakes. They have some bike parking available (some undercover too).
