Unfortunately, there aren't many parking spaces if you drive through the gorge. We were there early in the morning. The hiking trail starts right next to the road. After about 400 meters, you'll reach the lower suspension bridge over the Bicajel River.

The oldest historical monument in Piatra Neamt is the Dacian Fortress on Mount Bâtca Doamnei located in the southwestern part of the city on the ridge of a spur, at an altitude of 457 m. The place where it was built is the last extension to the north of Mount Doamnei , from where the fortress came out towards the river Bistrita like a bastion that closed this valley, protected by the almost vertical slopes from the east. Access to the fortress was through a narrow saddle, which climbed gently to the Batca Doamnei, just like a bridge. Considered one of the most interesting and commented ancient fortifications in Moldova, this powerful Dacian fortress still hides many mysteries waiting to be discovered. Although there were several periods in which systematic archaeological excavations were made that put us in front of the existence of a settlement belonging to the Eneolithic (Cucuteni A), the Bronze Age (Monteoru culture), Dacian fortress (1st century AD - 1st century BC). AD, and a feudal settlement (12th century), the ruins of the fortress are still accessible only archaeologically.

The route to '' Trei Caldari '' or '' Windmills '' starts from the Zoological Garden, passing by the entrance to the Gospodinelor Terrace, on the forest path and following the path up the mountain ridge. Those wishing to combine walking with a gondola ride can start the route from the train station. From time to time a few footpaths appear through forests that intersect the road, without any signs to Three Boilers. Continue on the ridge of the mountain. The route is also accessible to children. The landscapes towards the Bistrita Valley and the Ceahlău Massif can only be admired in the two forest cuts made for the aerial electric network. After about an hour of leisurely walking, a few rocks appear in the path, one of which stands out because of the resemblance to a three-eyed skull. It is the three burrows that give the name of the place, Three Boilers. They were also called Huge Boilers, due to the rainwater that accumulates in the three holes. The rocks are at 679 meters altitude. The effort of climbing the 22 meters vertically is amplified by a few descents followed by slopes that intersect to the destination. "The micro-relief is the result of the action of the wind, of the wind phenomenon, which happened 20,000 years ago. At that time, Ceahlău Massif was under the cover of eternal snow, and the lower region of Stanisoara had a harsh and cold climate, with strong winds, low vegetation carpet and a thin, discontinuous snow blanket, as it is now in Europe and Asia at over 60 ° northern latitude, ”explained geologist Constantin Grasu.

The route to "Trei Caldari" is very beautiful, the travelers always being surrounded by trees and greenery. The route is not long, is accessible to anyone and is sprinkled with multiple points of view of the city. Reaching the maximum altitude, tourists can get in touch with the "Three Caldari" wind marsh geology reserve, a nature monument that watches over the mountain, resembling a human skull or, as the name suggests, "Three Caldari". As interesting as the landscape is, the disappointing fact is that the rock was mutilated during the passage that left its names engraved on the stones that, theoretically, should be protected. The "Three Boilers" are three round holes with a diameter of approx. 60 cm, whose origin is different explained by specialists: some consider that we are in front of a karst phenomenon, others attribute them a periglacial nature, while other researchers qualify them as wind marbles formed by long wind action.

Mount Cozla, besides the ski slope and the cable car, is also known for the tourist routes appreciated by nature lovers. Mount Cozla patrols the northern part of the city of Piatra Neamt, being located in the vicinity of the village of Garcina and having a maximum altitude of 679 m at the "Trei Caldari" point. The route on Cozla has several starting points and can be traveled either on foot from Piatra-Neamt, or with the Telegondola de la Gara to the point "Trei Coline" and then on foot to the point "Trei Caldari".

In the Poiana Stanile there is also the St. Anthony's Chapel, a special sketch that seems to embellish you at rest and contemplation of the surrounding beauty. Then, the forest road continues to a meadow where there is also a terrace dug in the mountainside. From this place begins the path that climbs to the plateau on Ceahlau. After a short climb through the fir forest the first bushes of juniper trees appear, after which the path follows a level curve in the middle of the slope until you reach the mouth of the trough, on the top of the Schiop Foot. Like the other Ceahlau rocks, Stanila's rocks also carry their legend. The locals tell of a poor shepherd who, in ancient times, populated these lands with his sheep. Chipes and truffles at the port, he had heard that here are the richest pastures in the greenery of the whole Moldova, but also the mildest sun left by God on earth. One day, when Stanila was with the sheep grazing in the brains of the mountains, she met Maria, in front of the richest boat from those parts. This was a very beautiful pastorita that Stanila fell in love with. Because Stanila was a poor shepherd and did not have many sheep, Mary did not want to hear from him, although he had a heart of gold. Annoyed, poor Stanila searched for the highest rocks in those places and threw himself from them. Since then, those rocks have been named.
