"East of Neidenbach, unreachable through the gorge and fences, enormous mountains of black cloud rise up in front of us; clearly recognizable is the pouring, falling rain; we hurry down the slope without any protection; see a foil-covered sheep pen, squeeze through the gate and can only once no longer communicate verbally, the rain is pouring down like that on the roof. Grateful and happy we endure; Impatience sets in after more than half an hour of thunderstorms. Finally the rain stops, we start through the steamy landscape, same procedure as before; good mood guaranteed again.” https://www.komoot.de/tour/780244919

After a longer ascent through the forest on a gravel path, this is a place to take a break. From here you can drive in one direction to Malberg and St. Thoams and in the other direction to Neidenbach

Today we parked at it and ran a 5km lap through the Gerolsteiner Staatswald. On the way back towards the car we passed the pond again and an angler had just caught a big fish.
