Beautiful view of the castle – and of the house with presumably a great view above the castle

The cycle path leads over the power plant with a beautiful view of the Mur in a southerly direction. However, the path soon ends on a gravel road and flows directly into the B67 opposite the entrance to the Kanzelsteinbruch. The traffic light there should recognize a cyclist, but it was not switched to green, even though the traffic light opposite from the quarry was once green. So cross the B67 with caution and switch to the cycle path opposite. The Gratkorn power plant is a joint project of VERBUND and Energie Steiermark on the Styrian Mur river. The run-of-river power plant can cover the electricity needs of about 15,000 households. Construction of the Mur power plant began in autumn 2021, and commissioning took place in 2024.
