Such Marian grottos are always very special, especially since they have a magical quality and were usually deliberately built for healing purposes. The model for this beautiful complex is no less a pilgrimage site than Lourdes! Marian grottos are usually found near springs, but unfortunately, the one here has almost dried up. The Marian grotto in Finning was built into the mountainside and surrounded by truly beautiful surroundings. The whole thing is picturesque, with wonderful plants. It's also very well maintained. The villagers take loving care of it, especially the daughter of the builder, whom I met there. I gave her a four-leaf clover I'd just found. If that doesn't bring good luck, and not just for one day. The area is already magnificent! The Windach River winds its way through a pristine forest landscape, and along the way, you have beautiful views of meadows and hills. Being able to visit the Marian grotto along the way is a great joy. Also wonderful is the short connection from the gravel path to the complex, designed as an arbor with trees on both sides. This allows you to see the grotto from afar. Truly beautiful and meaningful, and also a testament to a deep Bavarian religious tradition!

The extensive fortifications from the time of Charlemagne are clearly visible in the terrain, but difficult to photograph. It can be easily circumnavigated with off-road tires.
