Hi Elly. Oh, I didn't see any "No Trespassing" signs on my hike. Maybe it was just a sign indicating a private path? You're often allowed to hike on those anyway. Thanks for pointing that out!

Lake Quakenbrück is heavily fished by members of the Quakenbrück Sport Fishing Club and is considered a top fishing spot. The most commonly caught fish are pike, perch, carp, bream, eel, and zander. Spin fishing is the most successful fishing method.

Here's a brief history: "Henghol Estate was built on the site of the former "Erbkötterei Hengholt" (hanging timber) from 1918 to 1926 by General Director Martin Stöve of Zeitz, a native of Berger. Sold to Martin Langer in 1926. See: https://wenner.net/bild-archiv-ol/aol2-299.htm

The disc golf round is okay, but if you expect a proper DG course, you'll be disappointed. The baskets are partly very dented - I suspect due to local forestry. But it's still fun. If you've never played before, you should be careful, otherwise the discs (important, not frisbees) might end up deep in the undergrowth. I lost a disc there at hole 5 or 6 a few years ago (a yellow "Fuse" 😭). The nine holes are spread over the first 1.8 to 2km of the route. Drivers or midrange discs are not absolutely necessary, putters are enough. If you don't have your own discs, you can borrow some at the restaurant in Böen. I can't say if there's a charge for them.
