The historic church staircase leads from the town center up to the imposing St. Nicholas Church. The staircase overcomes the difference in altitude between the market square and the higher-lying church plateau. As you walk up, a beautiful view opens up of the surrounding historic houses and the old town of Kappeln. The staircase is a characteristic part of the historic cityscape and connects the city center with the church in a special way.

To be precise, there were three minesweeping squadrons…and two fast attack craft squadrons…the so-called Baltic Sea rockers…each squadron had a tender (supply ship). In naval circles, Olpenitz was also affectionately called Olpenizsibirsk…because it was in the middle of nowhere…🙃 Until the end of the 1990s, 50 boats were stationed there…today, the navy unfortunately doesn't even have a fraction of that number…

The giant in Ulsnis is a landmark that is in very good condition, and there is also a bench here for a break 👍

Pure nature, sometimes strenuous to ride and often only possible to push, but the view of the water makes up for it :)
