A wonderful little place of peace. It is pleasant to sit under the trees. A seating group also offers itself for a rest. The chapel was renovated in the 1960s and a large, as well as a round window were installed behind the altar. Before that, it was very dark, as there is no electricity up there either. The chapel was open and has been redesigned quite modernly.

Above Kirchenarnbach, between corn and potato fields, stands the Maria Bildeich chapel. Construction began in the spring of 1840. The idea for it probably came from Pastor Nagel from Kirchenarnbach. A stone next to the outdoor altar with the year 1756 suggests that a chapel once stood there. In the 1960s, the chapel was renovated and the complex also received a fountain with a figure of St. Hubertus. A statue of the Sorrowful Mother of God in a hollowed-out oak tree is venerated as a miraculous image. The Pietà dates from before the Reformation. It is unknown who carved it. The beginning of the pilgrimage is also a mystery. It developed on the basis of a legend of its discovery in connection with a legend of its return. According to this, a shepherd is said to have found the statue of the Virgin Mary, which had grown into an ancient oak tree, and brought it to the parish church in Kirchenarnbach. ...

Beautiful path across the fields, from which you have great views over the wide landscape and the Palatinate Forest.

One of the best trails for any skill level. Can be ridden in both directions, but I would recommend going east to west. The trail is very washed out in one place, which means pushing uphill and can be very difficult downhill.
