The Salve Regina church is immersed in the greenery of the town of Valmarana, on the border between the municipalities of Altavilla Vicentina and Arcugnano. Built in 1900 and dedicated to the Blessed Virgin Mary of Sorrows, it is a peaceful place reachable via a forest path much loved by hikers and cyclists. On May 8, 1904, the first Holy Mass was celebrated here, and shortly after, Pope Pius X granted special indulgences for pilgrims who go there to pray on dedicated occasions. Now, however, the church needs restoration work to preserve its structure and spiritual value; a fundraiser is underway to save it.
