Santuario di Santa Maria del Fonte is a magnificent monumental complex, situated at the end of a long tree-lined avenue that begins with the arch of Porta Nuova, close to the historic center of the city. Its origin dates back to the famous episode of the Apparition: on May 26, 1432, the peasant woman Giannetta de Vacchi was in the Mazzolengo meadow, near the village of Caravaggio, when she witnessed the appearance of a woman whom, by her majesty and beauty, she immediately recognized as the Virgin Mary. As a testament to the event, a new spring gushed forth in the field, whose waters were capable of healing ailments. In the immediately following centuries, a place of worship was built to remain in eternal memory of the event: this building later became the current Basilica of the Sanctuary of Caravaggio.

Located in a quiet area, in the countryside, it has a small park equipped with tables and benches. There's also a fountain: refresh yourself, but be careful, as the water is not drinkable.

The Fosso bergamasco (in Lombard, Fòss Bergamàsch) is an artificial canal located in the Bergamo plain, dating back to the late Middle Ages. It connects the Adda River to the Serio River, before rejoining the Serio River and connecting the latter to the Oglio River. The two areas of the Lower Bergamo area south of its course are called Gera d'Adda and Calciana, respectively. The Adda River marked the natural border between the Duchy of Milan in Gera d'Adda and the Republic of Venice, a fact still commemorated by the presence of numerous castles along its border, including Brignano, Castel Rozzone, Castel Liteggio, and Pagazzano. In some sections, there are signs commemorating the ancient border. In the Crema area it only borders the municipality of Castel Gabbiano and in several places marks the border between the individual municipalities of the lower Bergamo area.
