Ballino Pass

Highlight • Mountain Pass

Final climb of the 2007 Giro d'Italia, the Ballino pass has no slopes that are impossible on any side, but the glimpses of the surrounding mountains and the asphalt in excellent condition will allow you to fully enjoy it.

Passo San Giovanni (287 m)

Highlight • Mountain Pass

The last small pass before Lake Garda and at the same time the lowest Alpine pass. The final descent via Nago / Torbole down to Lago offers fantastic views of the lake and the surrounding mountains of the Brenta and the Monte Baldo mountain range. The panorama lets you immediately forget all the efforts of an MTB AlpenX and is much more impressive than the route over the Sarca Valley via Arco!

Passo Bordala

Highlight • Mountain Pass

At 1250 m is the Passo Bordala. Once at the top you can stop in a rustic Ristorante and eat homemade pasta before taking the exit to Lake Garda.

Passo Santa Barbara

Highlight • Mountain Pass

Passo Santa Barbara is a crossing point for hikers, mountain bikers and racing cyclists (and of course motorcyclists). Of course there is a café here. In addition, the futuristic church is still worth seeing. However, only from the outside, because it is only open for worship.

September 25, 2025, Monte Velo – Passo di Santa Barbara

A fantastic pass road! From Bolognano, the road winds its way up to Passo di Santa Barbara with a relatively constant gradient and numerous curves. The asphalt is in good condition, and there's almost no traffic (I was only overtaken by one car that morning). Once at the top, you can either drive back down the other side of the pass to Loppio or, after a 2km descent in Ronzo, turn left toward Passo Bordala.

A wonderful pass road with little traffic! The road winds steadily uphill, bend after bend. There are frequent stretches of the road in the shade, so you can drive up even at midday in June.

An inconspicuous pass awaits you in the small town of Santa Barbara. The road up here from the Sarca Valley is magnificent. In 12 bends it winds its way up 1,100 meters and always offers great views of Arco and Lake Garda.
