The Teglio tower is the last remaining part of a medieval castle. It is surrounded by the church of Santo Stefano, a beautiful park and is located a very short distance from the center of Teglio, where you can taste the famous pizzoccheri from the Accademia del Pizzocchero. It is located in a very panoramic position overlooking the valley and the Somasassa lake, as well as the Orobie Alps.

The thousand-year-old church of Santa Perpetua is located on a natural balcony overlooking Tirano. For hundreds of years the church was a central point of passage between the Rhine and Inn valleys with Valtellina and Val Camonica, then with the Po plain and the Mediterranean. Next to the sacred building, the remains of a xenodochio, a hostel for travelers and pilgrims, are still visible.

The Teglio tower is what remains of a medieval castle that had great defensive importance for Valtellina. Like the adjacent church of Santo Stefano, it is located in a very panoramic position over the valley and the Somasassa lake, it is surrounded by a beautiful park (even if the paths that reach the top are a little rough) and is located a very short distance from a beautiful playground and the center of Teglio, where you can taste the famous pizzoccheri from the Accademia del Pizzocchero.

From here you take the Rhaetian Railway (UNESCO World Heritage Site) up to the Bernina Pass through numerous tunnels, winding its way up 1900m to the pass height of 2330m. A masterpiece of engineering with breathtaking views such as the Piz Palü, Bernina and Moteratsch glacier if you go up to it Pontresina continues. A single trip to the Bernina Ospizio costs 20 Sfr. Another 10 francs extra for the bike.

Nice bridge that connects the classic Sentiero Valtellina (on the left bank of the Adda between Tirano and Tresenda) with its dirt variant on the right bank. There is also a drinking fountain nearby.
