Embark on the challenging "On the crest of Monte Cerchio - Ring tour," a panoramic hike known for its wonderful ridge path and exposed sections. This route covers 6.8 miles (11.0 km) with a significant elevation gain of 1506 feet (459 metres), offering stunning vistas of the Biellese region, especially from the Marchetta area towards Monte Marca. You will experience diverse landscapes, including rolling hills, ancient olive groves, and extensive Mediterranean scrub, all while enjoying the expansive views from Monte Cerchio itself. Expect a demanding journey that takes around 3 hours and 32 minutes to complete.
This trail is best suited for experienced hikers due to its technical difficulty, which includes potentially slippery rocks and sections equipped with fixed ropes. It is highly recommended that you wear sturdy mountain footwear and possess some alpine knowledge before setting out. For a smoother experience, consider starting your hike from Bocchetta Luvera rather than Bielmonte to avoid certain uncomfortable progression points along the way.
What sets this specific ring tour apart is its demanding nature, requiring both good physical condition and technical skill, making it a rewarding adventure for those seeking more than a casual stroll. The mountain itself holds historical intrigue; its name may stem from "Zirkel Spitze," referring to the Busate basin at its base. While easier trails exist in the broader Monte Cerchio area, this particular route offers a unique and more adventurous exploration of the crest.

Beautiful view that goes around the mountain, only for very expert MTBs. The path is very exposed and dangerous with many stones and rocks. If done on foot, it takes at least half an hour.

I have always preferred to start from Bocchetto Sessera, on a dirt road to Artignaga or, a few dozen meters below, on the path of smiles. From Artignaga, depending on the day's plan, many possibilities open up, from a long and tiring tour, in a good sense, to Alpe Balma delle Basse, three buildings painted white under a roof of rocks, then to the nearby hill between Asnass and Punta dello Scaletto, and then to the right on a path that climbs to the hill between Cravile and Bo, then either you descend along the crest to the left to Bocchetto or, with a bit of time and experience, you can go up to the right to Manzo and Bo, obviously you have to question your body and your watch to decide sensibly, hours of walking and altitude difference can become excessive. But it is already beautiful and satisfying to go up from Artignaga to the Alps of the Bassa, a dozen or so houses in a row, half renovated and half ruins, and then to the hill before Cima delle Guardie and then return via the ridge to Bunom and finally to Bocchetto Sessera

Situated between the peaks of Guardie and Bonom, this panoramic point allows you to enjoy a magnificent panorama of the valley of the Sessera stream. The valley is located in the north-east of the province of Biella.
