This bronze sculpture was created by Gotthold Bretschneider in 1992. The pigs are reminiscent, on the one hand, of their importance for agriculture and their fattening in the extensive forest areas of the place, which led to fierce disputes with Ettlingen. "Spessarter Eber" (Spessart Boar) has become a nickname for the people of Spessart and also gives its name to the local carnival club.

Wonderful views over Durlach, Karlsruhe and the Rhine plain. The vineyard path is well worth a detour.

This is an ideal hiking trail between Ettlingen and Herrenalb. The Alb River accompanies you on your left. Pure scenic enjoyment. Due to its proximity to the Alb Valley Railway line, shorter sections of the trail are also easily accessible. For refreshments, the Kochmühle in Neurod and the König von Preußen restaurant in Frauenalb are recommended. Both also offer access to the Alb Valley Railway.

A lonely road leads from the Alb valley up to Spessart, passing below the village along large meadows and pastures.
