A path along the Tiber where you can stroll in peace and quiet. The trail is easy and well-maintained (only a few sections have roadblocks due to construction that can be bypassed).

Built in 1368, you can still see the coats of arms and friezes of the ruling mayors above the doors of some shops

The church of San Francesco is located within the historic center of Città di Castello and represents one of the main and oldest buildings of worship.

The current appearance of the church dates back to the early 1700s when the entire building was renovated in Baroque style. The consecration dates back to 1291 and all that remains of the original Gothic structure is the single nave plan and some architectural details. In 1550 Vasari designed the Vitelli Chapel, still visible today. Many of the works created for this church are now found elsewhere, it is possible to find them in collections of various Italian and foreign museums.

The Church of St. Francis was consecrated in 1291 and was originally a Gothic building, typical of the mendicant order, with a single nave. Some elements of the original building remain, such as the exterior of the apse, the right side and some windows. In the following centuries, renovations and expansions were made. Most important is the complete renovation that took place between 1707 and 1727 and gave it its current late Baroque appearance. The stucco work is by Antonio Milli from Tiferna, while the painter Lucantonio Angiolucci from Città di Castello decorated the medallions of the vault with Saint Francis, Saint Anthony and Saint Joseph of Cupertino. The choir stalls, depicting the lives of Mary and Saint Francis, decorated with graffiti and ink inks and dated to the first decades of the sixteenth century, are attributed to the same craftsmen who worked in the cathedral's wooden choir. In the church there is a reproduction of Raphael's "Marriage of the Virgin", the original was stolen by Napoleonic troops and is currently in the Brera Art Gallery.

In Piazza Gabriotti, in the center of the city, the cathedral of Città di Castello has stood since the 11th century. According to tradition, the Romanesque church was built on the remains of an earlier pagan temple and was dedicated three times in its long existence, first to San Lorenzo and then to the city's patron saints, Florido and Amanzio (St. Floridus and St. Amanzius). In its current form, the building is the result of several renovations. The floor plan is in the form of a Latin cross with a single nave and side chapels containing some notable works of art. There is a crypt beneath the cathedral, also called the Lower Cathedral, which is accessible via a side staircase. There is an old stone sarcophagus with the relics of the patron saint.
