nice surroundings to ride in. some of the roads were pretty soft, so wider tires won't hurt.

The Lotta Museum is idyllically located in an old villa right on Lake Tuusulanjärvi and impressively tells the story of the Finnish Lotta organization. In the exhibition, you will learn how dedicated women helped shape the country through their volunteer work.

Gorgeous place, easy to access! Multiple campfire sites, toilet, a lot of firewood and if you go down the stairs there's a dock in case you want to visit using a boat. The lake water is a bit nasty so I wouldn't recommend swimming.

Messilä harbour is a small marina on the western shore of Lake Vesijärvi, just south of Lahti, offering a peaceful stop for cyclists exploring the Salpausselkä Geopark area. It’s part of the larger Messilä resort, which is known for its ski slopes in winter and hiking and cycling routes in summer. The harbour area has a pier, café, and beautiful lake views, making it a great place for a break or picnic. It’s easily accessible by trekking or cross bike via gravel and paved roads. The surroundings are hilly, so be prepared for some moderate climbs.

The bridges over Lake Päijänne in the Pulkkilanharju area offer stunning lake views and are part of a popular cycling and driving route between Lahti and Jyväskylä. The arched Käkisalmi bridge, built in 1940, and the later Karinsalmi suspension bridge replaced old ferry connections and now make the narrow ridges of Pulkkilanharju easy to cross. The area is known for its clear waters and island-dotted views, especially along the Pulkkilanharju nature trail. The route is perfect for cyclists with trekking or cross bikes, though expect occasional traffic and be cautious on the narrow road sections.
