Via Pordelio Cycle Path

Highlight (Segment) • Cycleway

New cycle/pedestrian path in Via Pordelio, partially inaugurated in July 2021. The project, started on 10 December 2019, foresees completion of the works at the end of 2023. The cycle path will develop a total length of approximately 7 km, of which 2 will be built on road surfaces and the remaining 5, more demanding from an engineering point of view, created using a metal structure cantilevered for approximately 3 m compared to the lagoon edge wall, which is flanked by the Via Pordelio road. It overlooks the Northern Lagoon of Venice (with the Mesole coast in the background) and offers a view of the sandbanks covered in limonium.

The channel is barely recognizable anymore, it is more like a large lagoon.

Very nice bike and pedestrian path right on the water. Sometimes a bit tight with oncoming traffic, but doable. Here you can explore the western part of the peninsula well.
