The Seeschloss Ort is located on a small island connected to the Toskana peninsula by an approximately 120 m long wooden bridge. It is the landmark of Gmunden. Until a few years ago, the spelling "Orth" was still common. On the left side of the inner courtyard, various flood marks are indicated, according to which the flood of 1594 in the Seeschloss Ort had reached a height of 2.97 m, thus reaching the highest step of the covered walkway. The small castle chapel is dedicated to Saint James. The castle tower, behind which the much smaller church spire almost disappears, bears the year "1092". The altarpiece depicts "The Assumption of Mary", in which Saint James the Greater, the patron saint of the church, participates.
