Nice place where you see the Ligurian sea

Many thanks to the creator of this highlight. The path is really great. Easily accessible and far away from speeding cars. We used the section on a circular route from the old town of Ventimiglia. First on the designated hiking trail in komoot heading west (directly on the road) and then back on this path that is not marked anywhere, which is a lot of fun. There is a beautiful view of the Mediterranean from almost everywhere and also one or two views of the hinterland, which is a complete contrast to the coast.

Ventimiglia is a seaside town along the Ligurian coast a few kilometers from the border with France. It is famous for its medieval historic center with the cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta. I also recommend a walk along the seafront, to enjoy a splendid view of the bay and the French Riviera. In the surroundings of the city, the botanical gardens of Villa Hanbury and the archaeological site of Albintimilium are interesting, with the remains of a theater and Roman baths.

From this point it is possible to admire the historic core of Ventimiglia, the Upper Town, in the distance. The panorama is framed by the flow of the Roia river which flows into the sea a few meters later.

Balzi Rossi beach is one of the most renowned places in Ventimiglia. Here you will find crystal clear water and a series of caves with a thousand-year history. A real gem!
