St. Mary's Chapel "Zum Tannerl" In the mid-1850s, Princess Mathilde of Thurn and Taxis had the current so-called "Tannerl Chapel" built and maintained on the site of an old, dilapidated, small chapel by Mayor Köstler and the prince's valet Mengele. The "Tannerl Chapel" was consecrated on June 2, 1858, by Pastor Sterr of Donaustauf, and through the sale of the property, this chapel became the property of the princely administration. Since then, the chapel has been repeatedly restored through voluntary donations and labor by the people of Donaustauf.
