Val Mora Trail

Highlight (Segment) • Trail

Flow! That probably best describes this great trail. For me, the trail remains one of my favorite trails on the Albrecht route and in the Alps. Everything is just right here – not too easy, not too difficult. That leaves enough time to look and marvel. Because the nature and the panorama are also breathtaking. You first drive through the wide high valley of Val Mora and then the wide path narrows to a single trail in a gorge. There are a few places here where you better be careful. But the path never becomes really dangerous. In a lively ups and downs you finally reach the end of the gorge. The valley widens again and you come to Lago di San Giacomo die Fraele.

Lake Livigno

Highlight • Lake

This area of the high mountains offers fantastic views: descending from Val Alpisella the lake remains hidden, but towards the end of the descent it begins to show itself and becomes a mirage in the middle of the valley.

Munt Pers Summit

From Diavolezza to Munt Pers (3207 m)
A SHORT TOUR WITH A MAGNIFICENT VIEW OF THE MORTERATSCH GLACIER AND THE SURROUNDING PEAKS (T2/3)
The Munt Pers (3207 m) is one of the three-thousanders that are relatively easy to reach. Due to the high altitude, however, appropriate equipment and clothing are necessary. At this altitude, snowfall and freezing cold can suddenly set in, even in midsummer. In various hiking guides it is written that the ascent is also easy to do with children. I share this opinion only to a limited extent. The path is quite exposed in places and covered with snow. In my opinion, the children should not be too small and should only be out and about with experienced parents.

The starting point of the short tour is the Diavolezza mountain station with the restaurant of the same name. The entrance is on the right next to the restaurant terrace. From there a mostly well-marked and visible path leads up to the summit of Munt Pers (3207 m). Under favorable conditions, this can be reached in about 1.25 hours. Once at the top, there is a wonderful panorama with a view of the Morteratsch Glacier, the Piz Bernina, the Piz Bianco and of course the well-known Piz Palü.
