From Vienna to Košice – a bikepacking adventure in Slovakia
Again and again komoot does not show the quality of the road, i.e. KTV - who the fuck manages it for them is a mystery to me. So I'll give it like this so you know what it looks like. https://www.komoot.com/tour/2432195227

I still don't know why some HLs aren't showing up. For example, I'm doing this one for the second time and I'm curious if it will show up now.

Here you should definitely turn off to the climb to Vrsatec Castle. It's easy going, but after a while the road gets worse and there is a very steep climb at the end. https://www.komoot.com/tour/2432195227

The worst part of the route, but still great. It was possible to pedal, it wasn't so bad that it was impassable. Also the quality of the road and the % of ascent. https://www.komoot.com/tour/2432195227

Here you should definitely turn left. Don't be fooled by the appearance of a better road on the right. It is only at the beginning and then below Vrsatec it climbs over 25% on a steep slope without a road. Here on the left, there is a field, but a passable part along which you can, quite nicely and calmly, climb up to below Vrsatec. https://www.komoot.com/tour/2432195227

Turn right here too. It might be better to continue to the village rather than trudging along these roads near the dredging sites. https://www.komoot.com/tour/2432195227

The Jewish Synagogue in Trenčín is one of the city's most important historical and architectural monuments. Located in the center of Trenčín on Hviezdova Street, it is one of the most beautiful buildings of its kind in Slovakia. The current building was constructed in 1913 according to a design by architect Richard Scheibner.

The statue of St. Valentine dates back to 1998 and has a fascinating reputation. It tells that the waterman wandered here from Moravia and fell in love with the gingerbread woman Anička, who returned his love. However, their happiness together was hampered by the townspeople, who did not like the waterman. One day, however, Anička's gingerbread house caught fire. Waterman did not hesitate, he rushed to Váh and opened new springs from the underground, which put out the fire. Anička survived the accident, but Vodník did not. And so the residents of the town at that time had fountains built in the places where the water sprung. In memory of the heroic Waterman, a statue with his portrait was later erected here. In summer, wooden benches are set up near it, from which you can enjoy a beautiful view directly onto Trenčín Castle. In the evening, the unique fountain is complemented by light effects.
