To overcome the impassable height difference of the weir in Kasterlee, a short fish ladder was constructed with 20 successive sills. The fish ladder consists of V-shaped sills with vertical passages in the middle. This makes the sills passable for all fish species found in the Kleine Nete. Research on the similar fish ladder in Herentals (Spaans Hof) has shown that such fish ladders are very effective and attractive to migrating fish species. (Nieuws.be)

A farmer (Mil) built a small bridge, following the line of De Reep, over the Kleine Nete to reach the other side. This bridge was of interest to several people, and over the years, the municipality upgraded it. Since then, the bridge has been an idyllic spot over the Kleine Nete.
