B-17 Bomber Wreckage (1941 Crash Site)

Highlight • Historical Site

The path is relatively hard to find. Follow the boring dirt road uphill until this small round comes and a little further uphill. The path then goes off to the right and is very easy to miss. The blue marks have also faded heavily. Among my tours are the way on the map, best to load the region in the app and then follow with the mobile phone on the spot the blue line, so we did it. I recommend to take "Flyvraket way back" under my "Made tours", this is the right route. On the way there, we were once wrong. And get ready for a proper climbing party. Not recommended in wet weather!

Ørnenapen Trailhead Parking

Highlight • Parking

Parking above the street for several vehicles.
The steep mountain path, wide in the lower section, begins right there. Not marked but not to be missed and without exposed spots. Great prospects!

Very beautiful waterfall, but often very slippery, so be careful!

Thanks to the description, we found the path easily today. Interestingly, our dog showed us the way. This meant we were able to find the crash site without looking at our mobile phones. If you are traveling in Norway, a hike there is recommended, even if a large part of the route is on a gravel path.

Even though it was pouring here, the water flowed towards us in streams on the washed-out hiking trails and it was cold, it was a really great section.
