The Este hiking trail is truly scenic here, but you must be able to ride a bike. It goes up and down over hill and dale. Trekking or mountain bikes are required here. We managed it with a child trailer, but we definitely do NOT recommend it. Our little one got quite shaken up.

The Este makes a bend here. From a bench you have a very nice view.

The old railway embankment from Buchholz towards Bremervörde has unfortunately been taken out of service. The brick bridges, however, remain and some of them are in the middle of the forest. In some cases you can even drive along the former railway embankment, which is a lot of fun.

A stunningly beautiful area with lots of nature and animals. The whole area is a nature reserve and there is a lot going on at the weekend.

A wonderful path along the Este valley. The river and landscape are still largely untouched. In many places there are wonderful views over the valley
