In the proverbial "good old days," this former windmill, prominently positioned on a hill and thus clearly visible from afar, must have made a profound impression on the viewer. However, this has changed dramatically: Only the ruined remains of the once proudly towering tower with its once sweeping wings remain as a sad testament to that bygone era. Today's visitor is less likely to enjoy the sight of the ruins than the truly breathtaking view of the expansive landscape unfolding before them.

From the summit pole, this single trail leads over stony ground, exciting to ride with many curves, yet easy, I would say S0-S1

Great idea, a mast with a box and contents of a first aid kit.

The ascent to the top of Mount Parnitha is a special experience for anyone who enjoys travelling on two wheels. The road winds its way up the mountain with a gentle, steady incline - not too steep, but challenging enough to keep your muscles moving. The asphalt is in good condition, which makes the ride pleasant as the landscape opens up around you. On your way up, you will be accompanied by the rough beauty of the rocks and the sparse vegetation. The isolated, wind-shaped trees that decorate the mountainside are particularly striking - they tell of the harsh climate up here. The curves keep offering new perspectives on the surrounding landscape and invite you to stop for a short while to enjoy the view. Once you reach the summit, not only a magnificent view awaits you, but also the old, abandoned sanatorium, which exudes a mysterious atmosphere. It is worth stopping for a moment and taking in the peace and quiet before you start the descent. This section is located in the protected natural park Δρυμός Πάρνηθας – so please pay attention to the applicable regulations and respect nature.
